02 · About

From the lab bench to the codebase

I'm a senior full-stack web developer based in Greater Houston, TX. I work across the whole stack: PHP, Laravel, and WordPress at enterprise scale on one side; React, Vue, Astro, and TypeScript on the other. I'm just as comfortable owning deployments, databases, and infrastructure as I am building features.

My path here was unusual: I earned a biochemistry degree from Kenyon College and worked in research before teaching myself to code. That background gave me a methodical, evidence-driven way of working that I bring to debugging, refactoring, and shipping reliable software.

Today I lead large CMS rebuilds, ship AI-integrated products, and maintain production systems for agencies, public media, and my own apps. Since 2021 I've also taken on freelance projects for small businesses, handling everything from build to SEO to ongoing support. I care about clean, accessible, well-tested code and about the people who have to use and maintain it after me.
